Wednesday 25 August 2010
A selection of films from the pioneering participant film project of the 1960s. Working with a film crew, the people of Fogo Island, Newfoundland, documented the problems they faced and what keeps them committed to the land and their unique culture. The project enabled the community to engage directly with the Canadian government addressing these issues and led to the islanders setting up their own fishing co-operative.
