Acting Up! Drama Sessions for Children and Young People

With the exception of the school holidays, CCA offers competitively priced drama classes every Saturday for kids taken by accomplished writer and actor Clare Hemphill and her team of energetic assistants!  There is also an excellent annual show for each age-group, featuring the childrens' own ideas which are recorded onto DVD as a permanent keep-sake.

The first class of the day is at 11am for ages 5-11, lasts an hour and costs £55 for an 8 week block.  New children are welcome to pay-as-you-go to begin with for a months trial to see if they like it, and please note there is also a pay-as-you-go facility in any of the classes as a private arrangement for genuine financial difficulty.  There are currently a few spaces available in this class.  This class now produces an annual Christmas show in CCA5 which has proved extremely popular. A few spaces available.

The second class at 12.30pm is a very small half hour class for children with special needs - specifically communication difficulties. We currently have a small amount of funding for this class from the District Council.

The ever popular 1pm class has a few spaces available in August 2011 as some of the 1pm children will be moving on to the teenage class, but book soon to avoid disappointment! £63 for an 8 week block.  

There is now a new teenage class at 2.30pm - 4pm for children from 12 to 18yrs.  It costs £63 for an 8 week block but a pay-as-you-go trial price is available to see if you like it.  As well as still being a performing class, we have now added additional emphasis on devising and writing which is proving very useful for those teenagers looking to audition for drama/film school and any number of jobs/courses in the creative field. A few spaces available.

All CCA classes are exciting, fun and innovative, working on the children's self esteem and confidence as well as their creativity and acting ability.  It is also a wonderful place to meet new friends and have fun.  Give your child an affordable but educational weekly treat!
