Aye Write! Glasgow’s Book Festival will be presenting part of its programme at CCA in 2017 for the first time. There will be a wide range of events from fiction with Isaac Marion, author of Warm Bodies, Dr Who screenwriter and novelist Paul Cornell and Chibundu Onuzo, author of Welcome to Lagos to non-fiction with Christopher Somerville and his wonderful travel book The January Man and visual art with a celebration of the life and work of George Wyllie by his daughter Louise. Science is well represented with ground-breaking books from Adam Rutherford in genetics, Gary Fildes in astronomy, Caroline Williams in brain training and Philip Lymbery, author of Farmageddon on extinction. There will be a focus on graphic novels and comics, looking specifically at feminism and LGBTQ+ representation and there will be a very special event with Gulwali Passarlay, a young Afghan refugee whose extraordinary memoir The Lightless Sky has become an international best-seller.
