Ben Rivers (Sky Trembles, the Earth Is Afraid and the Two Eyes Are Not Brothers, GFF16) returns to Glasgow Film Festival, this time working with Thai artist Anocha Suwichakornpong to produce an elegant and playful film, merging aspects of documentary and fictional realism to illustrate the past, present and future of Thailand’s Krabi region. A fluid, beautiful experience in which time and identity are free-flowing whilst tourists and locals negotiate Krabi’s history, folklore and tradition. A trippy and affecting ode to art and history.
