91-year-old curmudgeon Robert lives alone in Vienna with only his beloved dog to keep him company. When Robert’s dog passes away, he is determined to bury his dear friend in the back garden but his failing body struggles with the task. Begrudgingly enlisting the help of Adib, an Afghani migrant, the pair navigate through their own prejudices to find some common ground. However, Robert discovers that Adib is in desperate need of medical care but cannot visit a hospital for fear of being deported. With time running out Robert takes matters into his own hands with severe consequences.
