Glasgow Film Festival To stream or not to stream: how we watch cinema now, presented by The Skinny

Wed 4 March 2020

Voyageuse

The way we watch films has changed inexorably over the last decade. Once upon a time the cinema space was the undisputed king, with films only available in our front rooms after the limbo known as the theatrical release window. Today, we can watch the latest releases on our smartphones while they simultaneously play the cinema circuit. Is this a new utopia of egalitarian viewing, or the beginning of the end for traditional movie-going? Directors Matt Palmer (Calibre), May Miles Thomas (Voyageuse, GFF18) and other panellists debate this brave new world of streaming, exploring how this seismic shift has changed our relationship with movies.
