Pity Party Film Club

Fri 1 June 2018

Pity Party Film Club are proud, if a little apprehensive, to present a rare UK screening of Peter Vack's Assholes. Described by Indiewire as "Truly one of the most disgusting movies ever made", Assholes follows the hilarious, outrageous and downright repellent exploits of two recovering addicts struggling to stay sober. After meeting in their psychoanalyst’s waiting room, they fall in love, relapse on poppers, and become the biggest assholes in New York City.

Premiering at SXSW 2017 and winning the inaugural Adam Yauch Hornblower Award for its unique vision, 'Assholes' has been delighting and horrifying critics for the past year.

“Sometimes a movie is made which pushes the boundaries of decency & artistry to breaking point. Such films truly make us wonder which vulgar mind conjured them up and decided to commit their depraved thoughts to celluloid.”

"If it came out in the 60s, the filmmakers would be in jail."

"This is the kind of movie that you wish you could unsee, the kind of movie that you have to watch in your peripheral vision because staring at it straight-on would be way too nauseating"
