Board Chair

CCA wishes to recruit a new Chair/Co Chairs of the Board. The current Chair is stepping down after 6 challenging (GSA fires and pandemic created closures) but well supported and interesting years. The new Chair/Co chairs should be able to commit time, energy and vision to shaping the strategic direction of the Company.

CCA is looking for a candidate/s from any and all backgrounds and encourages applications from those with a wide variety of skills. At this time we are particularly keen to attract those with experience in the arts.

The Chair/Co-Chair

The Chair/Co-Chair of the board is an important role with an expectation that they will be available for a monthly catch up meeting of 1 hour in addition to quarterly board meetings of approximately 2 hours each as well as an annual away day. Additionally there would be catch up meetings with the Director and some expectation that they would attend other ad hoc events throughout the year. The role is well supported by a vice chair and by the senior management team at CCA as well as having access to the Chair Matters group run through Arts and Business Scotland.

CCA is a unique and diverse art space in Glasgow that aims to support artists based in Scotland within a programme that is internationally significant. It provides a major platform for experimental work across artistic disciplines while actively supporting more traditional art forms. In addition to the galleries the venue operates a multi-purpose theatre, cinema and club room as well as The Creative Lab programme which is a key generator of live artwork. CCA is also an important venue for the public presentation of short films, experimental movies and documentaries.

In addition to its core programme CCA supports a range of partners and collaborators to present new work in the building, ensuring audiences have access to a rich and diverse programme.

CCA is a hub for the local artistic community and makes an important contribution to the cultural life of the city, offering a range of activities that encourage people to enjoy and access the arts. CCA is an organisation that aims to think and debate contemporary issues in a public space and has, at it’s heart, the prospect of cultural and social change explored through art.
