Glasgow Film Festival NFTS Scotland Presents: From Script to Screen - The 1st AD’s View

No matter the scale of the production, from a low-budget horror set in one location to an epic period drama with a cast and crew of hundreds, every film needs a strong first assistant director to provide leadership, problem-solve and create the best conditions for everyone on set to do their jobs. We are delighted to host Scottish-based First Assistant Director, Nick Heckstall-Smith (Ex Machina, Under the Skin, Skyfall) to explore the process of being an assistant director, looking at areas such breaking down a script, scheduling, working with the director and running a busy film set.
