Publication Studio Glasgow
Publication Studio Glasgow is part of an international network of eleven studios spanning four continents.
Founded in Portland, Oregon in 2009, Publication Studio prints and binds books one at a time on-demand. Creating original work with artists and writers, they attend to the social life of the book. The studio is a laboratory for publication in its fullest sense – not just the production of books, but the production of a public.
CCA launched Publication Studio Glasgow in 2016, with partners My Bookcase, Good Press, A Feral Studio and artist Joanna Peace. It was designed as a publishing enterprise as well as an open source printing facility housed at CCA.
Every eight weeks, we invite artists, writers and anyone interested in using the studio to join an induction session. We ask for a fee of £5 to cover costs. To gain access to the studio facilities once you're inducted or for any other inquiries, contact Annie Hazelwood, the studio can be booked for a day or half-day session. Our next induction sessions will be periodically published and available to book here.
Publication Studio Glasgow launched during Book Week Scotland in November 2016. For the launch, two workshops were hosted and two manuals for using the facilities were created. The event finished with a live comic performance by artist Malcy Duff.
