The long-awaited new feature from Of Love and Other Demons director Hilda Hidalgo is an absolute charmer, with a delightful central performance from Eugenia Chaverri. Violeta (Chaverri) is 72 and living alone after divorcing her husband of more than 40 years. Surrounded by loved ones, she has a beautiful home in the heart of San Jose, Costa Rica, and plans to rent out rooms and take swimming lessons. Life has a few surprises in store but Violeta is more than a match for the well-meaning family members and financial institutions who think they know what lies in her best interests…
