Methods as a British Sign Language performer and Deaf actor

Tue 9 July 2019

Bea Webster Sharing of Practise

Bea Webster will explain her work as a Deaf actor and as a BSL performer. She will talk about how English can be translated into BSL for a show, both as an actor and as a BSL performer. She will use Sonic Séance (V/DA) and Last Woman Left (RCS) as an example. She will also cover working with Deaf actors and cultural appropriation in sign language.

At the end, Bea will teach the BSL fingerspelling and how to introduce yourself!

This event is wheelchair accessible, and designed for anyone in the theatre and film industries interested in working with British Sign Language - actors, performers, stage managers, directors, students.
