Outside-In/Inside-Out Festival: Performances of Outside and Subterranean Poetry

Wed 5 October 2016

CCA

Part of the Outside-In/ Inside-Out Poetry Festival's programme of events, this evening features performances and readings in celebration of the launch of Barbaric Vast & Wild: An Assemblage of Outside & Subterranean Poetry from Origins to Present edited by Jerome Rothenberg and John Bloomberg-Rissman.

Outside-In / Inside-Out Poetry Festival is a festival of readings, exhibitions and creative symposia focused on "outside" and "subterranean poetry", taking place across Glasgow in October and November 2016. The festival presents and explores for the first time the great range of meanings in poetic art of “the outside” including the position of poets perceived as “outside” mainstream organs of publication, “outside” mainstream social groups because of race, gender, class, an disability, and “outside” as practitioners of formally experimental poetry. With participation from many nationally and internationally acclaimed poets, we will explore poetry of the outside historically and, most emphatically, in its contemporary and future manifestations.
