CCA Board Statement – 24 June 2025
25/06/2025
CCA
Today, the Centre for Contemporary Arts (CCA) was closed to the public due to security and safety concerns, following a rapidly evolving situation involving an intended occupation of our courtyard space. Law enforcement was called in response to a forced entry, and the building was secured. We regret the disruption caused by today’s events and the impact on all those involved inside and outside of the building.
We want to acknowledge those who gathered to express their views, many of whom are longstanding members of the CCA community. We recognise the conviction, deep emotion, urgency, and purpose behind their presence.
We also understand the significance of this moment. This has been particularly challenging for our staff. The CCA will be closed tomorrow to allow time for reflection and internal communication. We will share more publicly in the coming days.
