Residency 1 – Charlie Knox
Charlie is a sonic artist based in Glasgow working on the fringes of house, techno and more abstract sounds. He creates emergent interactive systems that drive DIY modular synths and DSP processing to create immersive audio-visual installations and performances. His work under the name Trudat Sound makes use of unconventional multi-speaker set-ups and reactive visualisations.
Recently he has taken part in an ASCUS residency at Strathclyde University and had his work presented at TedX events and the Glasgow Science Festival as well as run a range of audio workshops for young people with learning disabilities.

AC Projects Music Residency Series
The AC Projects’ Music Residency Series will offer composers/musicians/artists the opportunity to collaborate with AC Projects and with other artists if requested and will give the participants space and time to look carefully at their own ideas and to create and develop a new piece of work. Alasdair Campbell will work with the participants where appropriate offering advice and acting as mentor as part of the residency process.
There will be a series of residencies over the next year. The residency series will present four new pieces of music and sound as part of this process. The residencies will allow the artists to present their work in any format that they wish depending on the residency's outcomes. It is essential as part of the process and for the benefit of the participants’ experience that it is acceptable that the work at the conclusion to the residency may be presented as a work in progress. This will be seen as part of the ongoing process of development.
The immediate benefits of this process are that the artists will gain insights to possibilities in the creative process of making music which will enrich their skills and sustainability within music and the arts. The mentoring sessions will explore new platforms for presenting their work and look at commissioning and funding schemes that some artists may not be familiar with.
