Acting Up Drama workshops for kids and young people

Acting up
Acting Up provides innovative drama workshops throughout the year from the ages of 4.5- 16 years. It is run by award-winning writer and actor Clare Hemphill and her enthusiastic young team. It provides a safe and cost friendly space for the children to develop their creativity, confidence and performance skills. Importantly too, it is a place to have fun and make friends, while the adults relax in the café or wander round the book/craft shop and CCA exhibitions.
Clare crafted her skills through working with some of the most innovative theatre companies in the UK. She is an accomplished actor, TV and film writer with a comedy background. She encourages the children to find their own individual voice and every year there is a Christmas and Summer Show for them to present to the public their own unique take on the world.
All classes offer a three week trial at £6 PAYG with a warm welcome to newcomers. If they want to become a regular it's £70/75 for an 8 week block. Email Clare at clare.hemphill@talktalk.net or text 07974270053.
We are not strict about ages at Acting Up as children differ, but as a guide:
AGES 4.5 - 10yrs: 11am - 12pm
AGES 11 - 16 yrs: 1pm - 2.30pm.
From 10.30am - 11am. Acting Up also offers a short half hour class, specialising in communication for children and young people who have ASD - and need a little more care. If you have a young person who you think might benefit from that class or any of the classes - email Clare directly at clare.hemphill@talktalk.net or text 07974270053.
