Acting Up Drama workshops for kids and young people

Sat 31 August 2019

Acting up1 nwdz

Acting Up is an excellent foundation course in creativity and performance skills and has been running at the CCA for over a decade. Students have gone on to become artists, actors, writers and film makers but crucially many see Acting Up as being the fun, confidence building crucial step in their creative journey, helping them express their individual voice no matter what road they go down - academic or otherwise. It's a 'starring in your own life' kind of class. To help with this process, children and young people will perform in an annual public theatre show based on their own ideas which is also filmed on DVD.

The classes are headed by Clare Hemphill and her talented team. Clare is an award winning writer and actor who scripts the children's ideas, turning them into superb shows that are enjoyed by all. As Clare herself works in comedy, the shows always reflect a fun slant. There is no audition process. All newcomers of mixed ability are welcomed equally and can make use of the 3 week trial at £6/class before being invited to join our 8 week blocks.
