The Slaughter House is a piece devised and performed by the 30+ children and young people from 8 to 18 attending Acting Up drama workshops, scripted by Clare Hemphill. A Russian scientist has found a cure for death, but who will be the first to take it? The children have put together a work of comedy which forces them out of their comfort zone, as it’s set in an old people’s home.
The children and young people come up with a character they would like to play, and through a collaborative process the story emerges to house those characters in, creating a show beyond the normal confines of what a theatre performance is ‘supposed’ to look like.
All performances are filmed and recorded on DVD.
