Africa in Motion Film Festival Sodiq

Sun 9 November 2014

Sodiq

Sodiq Adeojo, a 20-year-old young man from Peckham, South London, has been charged with the murder of Sylvester Akpalara, an 18-year-old from Streatham. In 2004 Sodiq and filmmaker Adeyemi set up a football team together that ran until 2008. At the time Sodiq was about to take his GCSE’s and embark on an academic journey towards studying medicine and becoming a doctor. In less than 5 years the demise of a seemingly promising young man has once again become a loss to society; not just in the murder of another young boy but also in the failed attempts at a decent future.

We’re delighted to be joined by director Adeyemi Michael who will take part in a Q&A following the screening.
