Alsham Pay What You Can Cafe

Alsham is about bringing the comfort and tastiness of home-cooked (Middle Eastern) food to a cafe/restaurant setting and making it affordable for anyone. It will follow a 'pay what you can' system, serving healthy, tasty, middle-eastern dishes, as well as sharing, learning (and celebrating) the culinary knowledge and expertise of people from around the globe now living in Glasgow. There will also be a chance to give feedback, thoughts and impressions to help shape the future project.

A 'pay what you can' system is really what it says: if you cannot afford to pay a penny - you don't; if you wish to - you can. A reasonable price for each dish is suggested, ranging from £1 to £7. The point is not to stigmatise; everyone should enjoy filing their bellies in a place and in a way that feels like home, even if home is lost or far away.
