Ambivalently Yours: Open Studio & Artist Talk

CCA CALQ exchange artist-in-residence Ambivalently Yours explores ambivalence by creating illustrated responses to the personal messages she receives from strangers online. In recent years, this process has gained viral popularity and upon arriving in Glasgow, the artist has received over 340 pending drawing requests. From April until the end of June, Ambivalently Yours is committed to answering as many messages and drawings requests as humanly possible while also attempting to critically reflect upon the act of sharing art online.

Ambivalently Yours will open the doors to the CCA artist flat, where she has lived and worked throughout her residency. Wallpapered with over 100 drawings, the space has been transformed into a physical representation of her artistic process. The open-studio will be followed by an talk at 7pm, which will provide a glimpse into the unpredictable and often erratic nature of her feminist web-based practice.
