KABADDI

A family friendly workshop for women and non-binary parents/carers and their children

Join us at CCA Glasgow for a family-friendly introduction to Kabaddi—a fast-paced South Asian sport blending strategy, agility and teamwork, where breath, rhythm, and resilience meet. Led by England national team players Imane Sbihi and Manpreet Kaur of the Wolverhampton Wolfpack Women’s Kabaddi Team, this workshop offers an inclusive space to explore the game's fundamentals through movement and play.

No prior experience is needed.

kabaddi (noun) /ˈkʌbədi/ is a high-energy sport originating in South Asia that is played between two teams of seven players on a divided court. The game centres on crossing physical boundaries with the aim of tagging as many players as possible from the opposing side before retreating to your own side. The challenge lies in doing this while holding your breath and continuously chanting "kabaddi", while defenders block or wrestle you to the ground before crossing back over the boundary. In contemporary variations of the game, there are many regional and stylistic differences.
