Ben Treuhaft & Kathryn Elkin Tuning With The Enemy: Send a Piana to Havana

This event is a benefit screening of Tuning With the Enemy, award-winning 1-hour Channel 4 documentary about a meshugena American piano tuner who, as a sort of piano enema for America’s blocked up Cuba policy, ships pianos to Havana in spite of the embargo.

This year, Cuban expats in London have raised money in a series of classical concerts to buy a stunning 8’ Bechstein concert grand for their alma mater, a poor music conservatory in Havana. With this event and others they’re hoping to be able to afford to crate and ship the piano. After the screening, star of the documentary Ben Treuhaft will be in conversation with artist Kathryn Elkin, who collaborated with Ben in a video for her CCA exhibition Television earlier this year.
