Cabbage

“If a woman acts like a cabbage then that is funny, but if a cabbage acts like a woman - then that is also funny.”

For its inaugural event, Cabbage is pleased to present a screening of five moving image works by four female artists based in Glasgow. The films incorporate themes of humour, pathos and popular culture. Lip syncing, portraiture, role play and personal reinvention weave their way across each work, culminating in moments of sugar sweet grotesque, glorious divadom and offbeat poignancy.

Cabbage provides a platform for artists working with moving image to screen their work in an informal setting. Regular screenings allow selected artists to test out old and new works, challenging the context of their work within cyclical thematic events. Cabbage is curated by J J Tipton.
