Ceól 's Craic is the social hub and platform for contemporary Gaelic culture in Glasgow


Ceòl 's Craic is delighted to host the annual visit from Sabhal Mòr Ostaig, Scotland's Gaelic college on the Isle of Skye.

Ceòl 's Craic presents a literary event featuring Gaelic poet Myles Campbell, one time sailor, prison officer, teacher, writer and resident poet at Sabhal Mòr Ostaig. His latest book"Through the Pupil of the Eye" features a collection of poems inspired by the paintings of da Vinci, Gauguin, Blake and Chagall. Myles will read highlights from, and discuss the creative process behind his book.

An Cùrsa Ciùil' Sabhal Mòr Ostaig Student Band


We begin the main part of the evening's entertainment with a display of the fantastic musicianship being nurtured and developed at Sabhal Mòr Ostaig. A thirteen piece band of SMO students take the stage to perform compositions by the legendary Blair Douglas, SMO Musician in Residence.

9.30pm - Dàimh


Gaelic Supergroup Dàimh have headlined festivals throughout Scotland, Europe and beyond. Their repertoire runs from pyrotechnic jigs and reels to heart rending ballads. The band, who have become renowned for their exhilarating live shows, also act as mentors to SMO students.


Ceòl Mòr Ostaig celebrates the vital contribution Sabhal Mòr Ostaig continues to make to all aspects of contemporary Gaelic culture.


Children under 14 years old are welcome until 10pm.
