The Stoplight Society
La Sociedad del Semaforo, is a fictional account of real life Bogota, exploring the self-organisation of homeless people working in on the streets in Columbia’s capital. Between red and green lights, the workers have 40 seconds to earn their trade by selling sweets, cleaning car windows or by entertaining the on looking passengers with performances and tricks. Raúl Tréllez, a homeless man who lives in the downtown streets, conspires with his friends to increase their daily takings by finding a way to keep the traffic stationery for longer.
The film will be introduced by CCA Curator Ainslie Roddick, and will be screening in 35mm.
