Now in its 5th year, Leabhar ‘s Craic, the annual Gaelic Literary Festival will explore the ripple effects that are created when Gaelic literature and books infuse with other art forms.

In a year with no shortage of major events, new and established talent will bring the audience to discover and enjoy the impact of literary collaboration, through song, poetry, drama, performance, books and debate.

Aimhreit agus Aithreachas, a focus on Gaelic poetry, will journey to the water’s edge and reflect on the impact and futility of war. Struileag will showcase new poetry and song from both shores of the Gaelic diaspora and our place in the Commonwealth.

Established Gaelic writers Martin MacIntyre and Aonghas MacNeacail have inspired new, emerging writers Gillebride Mac IlleMhaoil, Tim Armstrong and Marcus Mac an Tuirneir and they will collectively enthuse and inspire the audience with readings from their latest works. Renowned actor and director, Kenny MacRae will create ripples with his latest drama. Add a children’s programme, good food and simultaneous interpretation (for non Gaelic speakers who appreciate good literature) into the mix and there’s something for everyone!
