Sholto Dobie

Sholto Dobie will continue his work and research in folk-song, noise, improvisation and performance. He will take the pibroch laments and lengthy free-form ballads that are represented in the Tobar an Dualchais online archive as starting points. Throughout the residency he will seek to challenge the idea of a centralised performer, by including field recordings, resonant objects and diffused sound sources, exploring simple methods for counterpoint and polyphony.
