Dardishi Festival DUBAIS live at Dardishi Festival Opening Night!
Fri 8 March 2019
Dardishi kicks off its 2019 Festival with a vibrant programme of Arab and North African womxn’s contemporary art. Headlining is a concert by multimedia music project DUBAIS! DUBAIS critically examines the themes of neoliberalism, consumer technologies, diasporic migration and transnationalism through Lo-Fi punk. The project is led by visual artist, cultural activist, and musician Nadia Buyse. DUBAIS will be performing with Jon Slade (Huggy Bear, Comet Gain) and Steve Dore (Casual Dots). Ahead of the concert is a reception of Arabic tea.
Access: Tea is served at 19:00, theatre doors open at 19:30, and the concert begins at 20:00. All areas of the venue are accessible to those with limited mobility, including wheelchair users. Large print versions of our printed programme will be available at the event. There will be loud noises and flashing lights during the concert.
Ticketing: Dardishi Festival is utilising a sliding scale ticketing system, so that everyone, regardless of their economic circumstances, can attend. If you are unsure how much you should be paying, have a look at our guidance document here.
