Right to a Nationality

What does it mean to make a new home? What does it mean to belong? Poet and performer Rachel McCrum is joined by poets, musicians, artists and filmakers from around the world to explore these questions. In a time of unprecedented displacement of humanity – globally, one in every 122 humans is now either a refugee, internally displaced or seeking asylum* - and in a Scotland still understanding the implications of the IndyRef, questions of uncertainty, of civic and ethnic nationalism, of movement, migration and home are more pressing than ever.

Rachel McCrum is a poet, performer and promoter. Originally from Northern Ireland, she has lived in New Zealand, England and Scotland. She is the Broad of Rally & Broad, founder of Stewed Rhubarb Press and in 2015, was the first BBC Scotland Poet In Residence. Her first solo show 'Do Not Alight Here Again' touched on themes of borders and crossings, loyalty and disloyalty, running away and trying to belong.
