Due to the bad weather today, there won't be BSL interpretation for the tours. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.


We're delighted to be taking part in Disabled Access Day 2019. Events include our main exhibition, Katherine MacBride | having been breathed out / patriarchy over and out; two BSL interpreted tours of the exhibition; and Glasgow Short Film Festival.


Exhibition


Katherine MacBride | having been breathed out / patriarchy over and out, is free and runs until Sunday 24 March (Tue - Sat, 11am-6pm / Sun: 12noon-6pm). It is located in our main gallery space on the ground floor.


There will be two free tours of the exhibition, at 10am (quiet hour) and 2pm, with BSL interpretation from Karen Forbes. Tickets for the tours can be booked here.


Glasgow Short Film Festival


Glasgow Short Film Festival will take place in the Cinema, Theatre and Intermedia Gallery. The film programme, and access information for the day, is as follows:

CCA Spaces:


Main Galleries | Our main gallery spaces are located on the ground floor. The gallery entrance measures 110cm / 43.5 inches in width (one door). When both doors are open this measures 218cm / 86 inches. The gallery is accessible by wheelchair, please note there is a lip on the threshold of the entrance. There is a corridor connecting the largest space within the gallery to the smallest space; this measures 80cm / 31.5 inches. The gallery space is always staffed, please ask a member of staff if you require any assistance.


Cinema | The cinema is on the ground floor and has level access, with two doors. The first door is a sliding door which is 117cm / 46 inches wide, the interior cinema door is 90cm / 35.5 inches wide and opens outwards towards the cafe. The cinema has raked seating, with removable seats for wheelchair spaces. There is one step for each row of seating, each 15cm / 5.8 inches in height, with the front rows at ground level. There is a hearing loop in the cinema. A member of staff will be able to advise you of the best seats for this.


Theatre | The theatre is on the first floor, it accessible from the ground floor via the lift, or via stairs (30 steps in total). The corridors on the first floor are level and measure 147cm / 58 inches in width, with handrails throughout. The theatre doors from the main walkway are 80cm / 31.5 inches wide. There is a flat flooring throughout, and during events there will be staff available for any assistance required. The seating bank in the theatre has one step per row, each 15cm / 5.8 inches high, with the front rows at ground level.
