Bahadur the Accidental Brave
The only dedicated international human rights documentary festival in Scotland returns for its eleventh outing with a host of exciting screenings, panels, workshops, music and events. Taking place at CCA from Fri 18 to Sun 20 October, this year's programme focuses on reflection and tension between the past and present.
Western Nepal is the setting of Aiditya Seth's Bahadur The Accidental Brave. It's a region that has long seen its population turn to migrant work in nearby Mumbai. This documentary is an in depth look into the brave Nepalese migrants' life as an important economic resource for Nepalese households. However, many Nepalese migrant workers are susceptible to high risk sexual behaviour and Western Nepal has come to foster a micro HIV epidemic.
