Critical of climate change, acclaimed photographer James Balog heads to the Arctic to document the melting ice for the National Geographic magazine. He is shocked by what he witnesses and sets himself the even bigger task to capture the melt of the Arctic ice over a period of several years.
The stunning time-lapse photography and video provides hard evidence for a multi-year record of the melting glaciers. For the team the mission becomes a technical and personal adventure, putting their lives at risk to get the images they need.
The screening will be followed by an open discussion about climate change from a Scottish perspective. Invited guest speakers are MSP Patrick Harvie from the Scottish Green Party and a representative of the local Greenpeace group.
