Goethe-Institut and Alliance Française's upcoming winter screenings explore the borders between reality and fiction. We present modern fairy tales, set within contemporary society, which feature the bizarre and fabulous alongside the ordinary and well-known. Meet sinister, illusive and fantastic characters and explore their stories in these gems of European independent cinema.
Following several short films and documentaries, Swiss-French filmmaker Ursula Meier’s first feature film Home stars acclaimed actors Isabelle Huppert and Olivier Gourmet in a claustrophobic drama about a family who live right next to an uncompleted motorway. Surprising, comic but also tragic, Home depicts a contemporary tale of family life, and underlines modern life’s absurdity.
