Freedom to Run
Tue 29 May 2018

Freedom to Run
Freedom to Run is an innovative new media and cultural exchange project which began in September 2017. The project involves two groups of runners, one from Glasgow/London and the other from Palestine. The project aims to raise awareness of the restrictions on freedom of movement that Palestinians face by using training for a marathon as a way to highlight this issue and other issues related to the Israeli occupation. Both groups ran the Palestine marathon in March 2018 and are now training for the Edinburgh marathon in May 2018 when the Palestinians will come to Scotland. On the 29th May, the CCA cinema will host a screening of a short version of Freedom to run and a talk given by the Palestinian running group, Right to Movement. Guests will hear about the work of Right to Movement, from the film makers behind Freedom to Run and have the opportunity to ask questions at a Q and A after the screening.
