Woodlands Community Garden & Glasgow Seed Library
Freshers Equinox
Sun 21 September 2025
We have great things happening, a volunteer led bike ride with Amy and Kyle, our Anti-Racist library, a mending session with volunteer Jess, our warm welcome cafe, a seed saving activity with Hamshya from Glasgow Seed in the Meeting Room and a Gardener portrait arts activity and vegan apple cake in the Garden.
Then after the event Elinor will be running a "House of Yves" planting activity from 2-4pm where folk can collectively plant a Lavender Love micro garden. Inspired by Lavender Menace and the Pink Triangle, the Lavender Love garden will be planted with herbaceous perennial blooms as a letter to pholx of all kinds and a gentle reminder year-on-year that our garden is a welcoming space for everyone.
Wow what a fun day awaits us!
We will also be selling Woodlands Community Merch to raise funds for Woodlands in Flourish House.

About the Organisers
Glasgow Seed Library is a collection of seeds and a community of growers. The library stocks organic and open-pollinated vegetable, herb and flower seeds for everyone to borrow, grow and save. By learning to save and share seed locally, we can nurture unique varieties and adapt our plants to a changing Scottish climate.
Woodlands Community Garden opened in 2010, occupying a vacant site in West Princes Street. Since then it has become an important local space where people make new friends and feel part of the community. It’s also a great place to unwind from the everyday stresses and strains of city life. Each year, around 50 households grow their own fruit, vegetables and herbs in the garden’s raised beds. The garden is also the focus of many projects that we run with local partners.
