Ideal for aspiring filmmakers, Wilma Smith from GMAC Film will share an essential guide to getting your first film made and seen.

Brought to you by Behind the Scenes in association with BFI Film Academy Labs, this free, in-person event at Glasgow Film Festival is for young people looking to explore careers in Scotland’s film industry.

This event will include information on your initial, vital steps into the film industry, starting with what your next move is once you have conceptualised your film idea. Wilma Smith, Filmmakers Programme Manager at GMAC Film, will share vital advice about how to maintain your creative discipline whilst working toward becoming a full-time filmmaker. She will discuss how to balance your creative work and working to earn a steady wage, at the beginning of your filmmaking journey. Wilma will also share valuable opportunities available to you and answer audience questions.

Behind the Scenes is supported by the BFI Venue Education Fund and Gannochy Trust, in partnership with Eden Court Highlands.

Open to the public, free to attend.

Events designed with 15-25 year olds in mind.
