11 Minutes
Veteran Polish director Jerzy Skolimowski returns with a bravura, high energy thriller that follows disparate lives in Warsaw during the same eleven minutes. The stories seem unrelated: a predatory American producer ‘auditions’ an actress in his hotel room whilst her husband searches the building; a drugs courier evades a jealous husband; a young man is caught up in a failed heist, and a paramedic team rush to help a woman in labour. The frantic mood, slick visuals and sound design all combine to reflect the hectic pace of modern life in a big city where life-changing events can happen in a matter of minutes and we are more connected than we think. Hold on tight.
