April and the Extraordinary World (Avril et le monde truqué)
Picture a world without electricity, television or the combustion engine. That’s the France of 1941 in this wildly imaginative, rip-roaring animated fantasy based on the graphic novel by Jacques Tardi. Over the past 70 years some of the greatest thinkers and scientists have mysteriously vanished, depriving the world of their inventions. Teenager April (voiced by Marion Cotillard) is determined to discover the fate of her parents, two of the missing scientists. Aided by her talking cat Darwin (a world-weary scene-stealer), her grandpa and the rascally Julius, April embarks on a mighty adventure with all the thrills and beauty of a vintage Disney classic.
