Nicola Costantino: The Artefacta
One of the most admired and controversial artists in Latin America, Nicola Costantino’s work channels Argentina’s history of violence and political instability into pieces of macabre beauty. Watching the artist incorporate such materials as moulds of human skin, full animal carcasses, and her own body fat, director Natalie Cristiani crafts a beautiful portrait of an enigmatic soul whose tortured love affair with the homeland acts as catalyst for her work. Costantino’s unique process is investigated in this stunning documentary, as she prepares her latest work for the Biennale.
