GFF: Road to La Paz (Camino A La Paz)

It’s not the ultimate destination but the journey that counts in this engaging road movie from writer/director Francisco Varone. Sebastian (Rodrigo De La Serna) is drifting through his thirties in Buenos Aires, dodging responsibility and disappointing his wife (Elisa Carricajo). His prize possession is an old car that belonged to his father. Sensing a chance to make money, he agrees to drive Jalil (Ernesto Suarez), an elderly, devout Muslim, two thousand miles to the Bolivian capital of La Paz. They couldn’t be more different, but as this odd couple hit the road they discover common ground and a growing bond.
