GFF: The Fire (El Incendio)

Buying a first home together should be something to celebrate but in this lean, gripping drama it exposes all the tiny cracks in a relationship. Lucia (Pilar Gamboa) and Marcelo (Juan Barberini) are paying cold, hard cash for their new property but when the sale is postponed by 24 hours and they are left in possession of $100,000, the tension builds as they try to have a normal day. Both have issues they have chosen not to share, and their failure to communicate grows into mounting anger and frustration, set to explode. Intense, emotional and beautifully controlled by director Juan Schnitman.
