Glasgow Film Festival

Sat 24 February 2018

Hot off the heels of Fantastic Fest’s midnight screening, Anyab is a true embodiment of a lost classic. An Egyptian remake of The Rocky Horror Picture Show from 1981, Mohammed Shebl completely
reinvents Richard O’Brien’s classic, refocussing his efforts on a horde of flamboyant vampires who enjoy nothing more than a wee sing-a-long. Cue grandiose disco-inspired Egyptian dance numbers,
incredible set pieces and a cast who are clearly having an absolute riot: Anyab is the perfect late night B-movie. Those of a nervous disposition may find some scenes upsetting… others may find some scenes downright hilarious!

Also screening at Glasgow Film Theatre, Fri 23 Feb, 11pm
