Glasgow Film Festival Which Way Up

Revered abstract artist John McLean has exhibited all over the world. His paintings can be found in some of the finest public collections from the Scottish National Gallery to the Yale Centre For British Art. In 2014, McLean was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease. Michael Proudfoot’s intimate documentary follows McLean as he continues to paint, exploring the role of shape and colour in his stunning work. A life-enhancing portrait of an artist full of the joy of being alive, whose response to illness is an inspirational urge to work, create and express himself.
