Glasgow Open Dance School Body-Mind Centering® Workshop with Katy Dymoke
Sun 8 February 2015

Glasgow Open Dance School
In this workshop Katy will offer an experiential exploration through movement of the inner realm of the body and its relationship to intuition, the felt sense and the emotional self, considering the 'organic' support of the body in movement, of posture and alignment. This may involve sounding, movement exploration and some hands-on partnering work depending on the group 'body-mind'.
Come along and experience an introduction to a systemic approach to movement and recall how the intuitive, autonomic and 'gut' brain underlies your physical 'intelligence' and is the foundation to thinking.
Katy is a BMC® teacher and practitioner which she has applied to her personal and professional life for over 20 years. Katy incorporates somatic practice, martial arts, within her dance, movement and performance work. She is a 'veteran' of Contact Improvisation, a dance film maker and longstanding director of Touchdown Dance. Katy is a Dance Movement Psychotherapist working in health and education, completing a PhD in the use of touch in clinical practice.
This class is suitable for all levels and abilities.
Programmed as part of Romany Dear's exhibition, Dancing in a circle is a reminder that we are part of the whole.
