Glasgow Short Film Festival Sorayos Prapapan 2

In the self-reflexive work of Thai filmmaker Sorayos Prapapan, independent film production and culture provide a foundation on which Prapapan builds quietly savage and funny social critiques.

He sets his sights on the hierarchical structure of Thai society, corruption and military influence, but also on the clout of the West, seen through the prism of the film festival circuit. Films such as Fat Boy Never Slim, Death of the Sound Man and Friend With Benefits, Without Benefits are understated gems.
