Glasgow St Patrick's Festival & Hope Not Hate Art of Conflict: The Murals of Northern Ireland

Please note this event has been cancelled and replaced with The Cause of Ireland

Glasgow St Patrick's Festival & Glasgow Hope Not Hate are delighted to present this documentary on the murals of Northern Ireland.

The murals of Northern Ireland are a vivid expression of the region's violent Troubles. 'Art of Conflict: The Murals of Northern Ireland' (2012) is a documentary produced and narrated by American film actor Vince Vaughn, and directed by his sister Valeri Vaughn.

The film examines these murals through their painters and the people who live there, exploring this unique street art's impact, purpose, and future while placing them in context of the history and events that have inspired them.

Featured in the documentary are key figures from both sides of the conflict including mural painters themselves and well-known political figures such as Gerry Adams and David Ervine.

The film will be followed by a short Q&A on the themes and issues it explores.
