Glasgow Tango Studio: Summer Tango Ball

Glasgow Tango Studio is delighted to host Glasgow’s Summer Tango Ball with live-music provided by Urban Tango Collective. This exciting band comprises Nicola Boag on violin along with Aileen Sweeney with her accordion and Laurie Anderson playing cello. A new addition to the band is John Gormley at the piano. The quartet plays a fresh and delightfully arranged repertoire of their chosen traditional tunes of tango, milonga and tango-vals. To start off the second half of the live-music set Sari Lievonen & Jeff Allan, seminal tango teachers and performers in Glasgow, will perform with the band allowing the tradition of tango improvisation to be at the heart of their expression of the music.

In addition to live-music, the DJ for the evening, Jeff Allan, will treat you with his sophisticated and much-enjoyed choices of classical tango, tango-vals and milonga. If you are new to Argentine Tango this evening is a wonderful opportunity to be introduced to this passionate dance and music.
