Glasgow Tango Studio Touch of Tango

Tango July Aug d8jf

These Argentine Tango classes are specially designed for people with Parkinson’s and are suitable for a mixed ability group.

We will explore different ways of learning about tango, this beauteous music and social dance practiced widely around the world. Tango language allows us to have fun, feel connection and improvise a dialogue with our dance partners. The classes include exercises danced alone, with a partner and as a group.

For the teacher Sari Lievonen this is a pilot project about finding an applied, new way of teaching this delightful couple dance. Therefore the sessions are composed of a dance class and a short discussion/sharing of your experiences about materials taught. Sessions end with an opportunity to socialise with refreshments.

Sari is a very experienced professional dance artist with a background in contemporary and theatrical dancing for over 30 years. Teaching and performing the Argentine Tango has been her passion for the last 12 years. For more info about Sari see www.glasgowtangostudio.co.uk.

This project is supported by Creative Scotland.
