Cemetery of Splendour
A film that is like a poem - both mysterious and specific.
Thai soldiers lie unable to awake from sleep in cots that are all connected to a series of long curved incandescent tubes that glow gloriously, pulsating vibrant colours from green to red, red to blue and back to green. The rural hospital where they lie was once a school. A nurse, Jen, forms a special connection to one of the sleeping soldiers, Itt, whose bed sits in the place where her school desk was positioned when she was young.
Beneath the hospital lies another realm. Goddesses explain that the improvised hospital is buried on an ancient cemetery for kings and soldiers who continue to battle drawing down the energy of sleeping soldiers as they do so.
